Enrique Maxenchs hit a great ball. Juan-Carlos Falla made an important save on a dangerous shot by Xavies Berrio in the 24th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Salomon Eiros in the 28th minute of play forced Liga de Ecuador's goalkeeper Juan-Carlos Falla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Liga de Ecuador's defense didn't have a chance, in the 29th minute, when Xavies Berrio scored to the left of an out of position Juan-Carlos Falla, making the score, 1-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Xzaver Oropeza made the kick off in the second half. Garrido Mañaria made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xzaver Oropeza in the 56th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rosero Checa in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Juan-Carlos Falla saved Liga de Ecuador from getting behind. 59 minutes into the game, Xavies Berrio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Juan-Carlos Falla was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a little luck, KITU's Garrido Mañaria got control of the ball when Flavio Egusquiza tried to sneak it across the goal line. Juan-Carlos Falla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rosero Checa, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Liga de Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Xavies Berrio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. There was no doubt that KITU were the better team. KITU's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
