Costante Diz's late challenge caught a Independiente del Valle's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Burbano Boix charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Burbano Boix the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Burbano Boix in the 27th minute of play forced Independiente del Valle's goalkeeper Fleitas Hormilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 29 minutes of play, Independiente del Valle's Alex Manjaleguas made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ugaitz Santos was left in no man's land by his defense there! Costante Diz was shown his second yellow card after 45 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Ugaitz Santos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alex Manjaleguas, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zoil Torto made a kick off. Ugaitz Santos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex Manjaleguas in the 52nd minute of play. When Morán Ludeña came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Independiente del Valle fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Morán Ludeña couldn't finish the play. Chantaco's Ugaitz Santos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Manjaleguas in the 68th minute of play. Morán Ludeña took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ugaitz Santos. Ugaitz Santos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. 87 minutes into the match, Chantaco's goalkeeper Ugaitz Santos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Morán Ludeña. Morán Ludeña was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 89th minute. Independiente del Valle's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Ugaitz Santos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex Manjaleguas in the 94th minute of play. Alex Manjaleguas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Independiente del Valle eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
