Victor Ariztimuño breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to El Campeón de la Gente getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Isaac Padolles hit a great ball. 24 minutes into the match, Joaquin Rejon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alfonso Valpuesta. Oretga FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Joaquin Rejon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 29 minutes into the game, Flavio Arvelo threw the ball into play from the sideline. El Campeón de la Gente's Suárez Allo quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After 30 played minutes, El Campeón de la Gente's Suárez Allo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alfonso Valpuesta came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in El Campeón de la Gente reached it. After a defensive mix-up in Oretga FC's zone, Zoilo Astete stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfonso Valpuesta came out of the goal and Zoilo Astete tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Zoilo Astete sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 34 minutes, Joaquin Rejon made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Oretga FC's Alfonso Valpuesta tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. A hard and well directed shot from Zoilo Astete led 38 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. Oretga FC's Alfonso Valpuesta became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 0-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joaquin Rejon to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, El Campeón de la Gente's Ugutz Helguero got a free kick in the 55th minute. A hard shot 60 in the game by Joaquin Rejon from a close distance when the talented Alfonso Valpuesta managed to make a qualified save. Oretga FC's players were relieved. In the 62nd match minute, Oretga FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Uxio Quesada to maneuver through the defense. The attack was good, but when Joaquin Rejon in the 63rd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Joaquin Rejon had several of the Oretga FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 66 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-4 score and a disappointed Alfonso Valpuesta as he didn't even see the shot coming. Joaquin Rejon was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 75th minute. El Campeón de la Gente's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 77th minute, Zoilo Astete ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alfonso Valpuesta was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind El Campeón de la Gente's goalkeeper Victor Ariztimuño, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Zoilo Astete hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Alfonso Valpuesta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Palacios Patiño in the 89th minute of play. Alberto Velaz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victor Ariztimuño having to interfere. El Campeón de la Gente's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
