Angel Ziarza kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. In the 8th minute, Gomez Erauso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Faustino Gilavert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gomez Erauso blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Xacobo Ayala having to make a save. Xacobo Ayala took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gomez Erauso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gomez Erauso took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Xacobo Ayala. Xacobo Ayala dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. In the 25th minute, Hector-Luis Arenal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 27th minute Aires Mendosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Quiróz Pedronera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Quiróz Pedronera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Faustino Gilavert, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. In the 34th minute, ECUANAC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Boris Valladares fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The audience was convinced that Aires Mendosa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Quiróz Pedronera was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. After 40 played minutes ECUANAC got a freekick which was hit by Zoilo Capon. Faustino Gilavert hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. When Gomez Erauso came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Pichirilos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gomez Erauso couldn't finish the play. If Gomez Erauso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gomez Erauso to make the kick off. Boris Valladares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xacobo Ayala having to interfere. After a rather tough play, ECUANAC's Figueroa Cayado got a free kick in the 60th minute. Pichirilos's Montalvo Ordax suffered a concussion in the 62nd minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. After 62 minutes, Enrique Rabago mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ECUANAC and the Pichirilos players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, ECUANAC's Enrique Rabago got a free kick in the 63rd minute. A collision led to ECUANAC getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Faustino Gilavert hit a great ball. 74 minutes into the match, Pichirilos's goal looked a bit too open when Aires Mendosa came free, but Quiróz Pedronera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Pichirilos defense, Faustino Gilavert kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Quiróz Pedronera. The Pichirilos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Quiróz Pedronera should have stopped the shot. With a little luck, Pichirilos's Quiróz Pedronera got control of the ball when Faustino Gilavert tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Aires Mendosa came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the ECUANAC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aires Mendosa couldn't finish the play. Faustino Gilavert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Quiróz Pedronera having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Pichirilos's Angel Ziarza got a free kick in the 90th minute. Faustino Gilavert could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 97th minute of the match, but Quiróz Pedronera made a huge save. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
