Mauro Prestes showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Zuzen Ceruelo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Esteban Volante in the 14th minute of the match. With a little luck, GMS's Zuzen Ceruelo got control of the ball when Esteban Volante tried to sneak it across the goal line. GMS's Zuzen Ceruelo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save GMS from getting a goal against them. 25 minutes into the game, Zeledon Cabada was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. GMS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ₡ F ΛςґǐпзЯө the free kick. After a rather tough play, GMS's Zeledon Cabada got a free kick in the 25th minute. Esteban Volante succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 31st playminute. If Esteban Volante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Mauro Prestes came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the ₡ F ΛςґǐпзЯө fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mauro Prestes couldn't finish the play. Zuzen Ceruelo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Esteban Volante's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. In the 47th match minute, ₡ F ΛςґǐпзЯө was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bartolo Aurken to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Klimovich Llorens stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Esteban Volante in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zuzen Ceruelo saved GMS from getting behind. If Mauro Prestes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. ₡ F ΛςґǐпзЯө's Esteban Volante got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vilson Amenabar got free with Jeremias Turrilla in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 67th minute, Segundo Ursua got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Esteban Volante in the 85th minute of play forced GMS's goalkeeper Zuzen Ceruelo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mauro Prestes might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zuzen Ceruelo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mauro Prestes ran back to his position shaking his head. After 91 minutes, Esteban Volante made it 5-0 with a short kick to the right side. GMS's Zuzen Ceruelo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Zuzen Ceruelo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Esteban Volante's shot from short distance in the 96th minute.
