The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vidal Lape's late challenge caught a Celtic F. C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vidal Lape helped the player get up and apologised. An unexpectedly hard shot by Urbasa Matallana in the 28th minute of play forced Celtic F. C.'s goalkeeper Bernardo Barrera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Celtic F. C.'s Nando Jalon got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Moreta Herencia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Maruca in the 31st minute of the match. In the 32nd match minute, CD Buenaventura was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diego Echaez to maneuver through the defense. Zeru Zalaeta charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zeru Zalaeta the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The goalkeeper, Moreta Herencia, was totally fooled by Celtic F. C.'s Virgilio Mujica, who 70 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. When Cordero Folgar came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the CD Buenaventura fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cordero Folgar couldn't finish the play. Zeru Zalaeta kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. If Ubendu Lezcano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute.
