A collision led to CD Masaconsa getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Simon Gostioz hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, CD Masaconsa's Bustos Freiria got a free kick in the 12th minute. After 19 minutes of play, CLUB SPORT EMELEC's Rosero Echague made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Paiva Gomara was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 23rd minute, Xorxe Corvera reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Paiva Gomara. The goal made the score 4-1. In the 30th minute of the match, Rosero Echague tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Paiva Gomara saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Paiva Gomara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rosero Echague in the 32nd minute of play. Paiva Gomara made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Xorxe Corvera sent off a good shot on target. Paiva Gomara didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Xorxe Corvera went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 6-1 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in CD Masaconsa's zone, Xorxe Corvera stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paiva Gomara came out of the goal and Xorxe Corvera tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The nice shot from Xorxe Corvera in the 47thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Paiva Gomara had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Xorxe Corvera made a kick off. After having played for 51 minutes, Vitomir Radetić managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CLUB SPORT EMELEC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vitomir Radetić was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dannes Gox's late challenge caught a CLUB SPORT EMELEC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dannes Gox helped the player get up and apologised. Dannes Gox kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. In the 56thth minute of the game Xorxe Corvera who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CD Masaconsa's Paiva Gomara was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match clock showed 58 minutes, the score became 7-1 when Hernando Lunar sped through CD Masaconsa's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Paiva Gomara. In the 61st minute Hernando Lunar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paiva Gomara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vitomir Radetić sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Xorxe Corvera in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paiva Gomara saved CD Masaconsa from getting behind. In the 82nd minute Vitomir Radetić shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paiva Gomara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paiva Gomara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armando Arbieto, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Xorxe Corvera struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Paiva Gomara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CLUB SPORT EMELEC. Gonzalo Veladiez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paiva Gomara having to interfere. Xorxe Corvera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Paiva Gomara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There was no doubt that CLUB SPORT EMELEC were the better team. CLUB SPORT EMELEC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
