After a rather tough play, Holstein S.V.'s Vicente Izcaray got a free kick in the 4th minute. Fabio Barea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rosero Echague in the 8th minute of play. Marcelo Viguera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Agustín Chandivilla tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to CLUB SPORT EMELEC getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Oswaldo Heneses hit a great ball. In the 14th match minute, Holstein S.V. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelo Viguera to maneuver through the defense. If Vitomir Radetić had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fabio Barea stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Xorxe Corvera's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. Vitomir Radetić struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Fabio Barea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CLUB SPORT EMELEC. In the 30thth minute of the game Xorxe Corvera who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Holstein S.V.'s Fabio Barea was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Fabio Barea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vitomir Radetić, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fabio Barea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xorxe Corvera in the 36th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Xorxe Corvera in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fabio Barea saved Holstein S.V. from getting behind. Fabio Barea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xorxe Corvera, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. In the 47th minute Rosero Echague shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabio Barea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Weterio Marcilla to strike the kick off in the second half. Fabio Barea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gonzalo Veladiez, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. In the 54th minute, Vitomir Radetić made a precise shot to the right of Fabio Barea. Holstein S.V.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After 57 minutes, Xorxe Corvera made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Holstein S.V.'s Fabio Barea tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Fabio Barea came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by CLUB SPORT EMELEC's Rosero Echague. But to his dismay, Rosero Echague quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. In the 67th minute, Xorxe Corvera made a precise shot to the right of Fabio Barea. Holstein S.V.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. Agustín Chandivilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcelo Viguera, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Xorxe Corvera didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 0-6 via right post in the game's 74th minute. CLUB SPORT EMELEC's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! 76 minutes into the game, Kaviedes Valcuende was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Holstein S.V.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CLUB SPORT EMELEC the free kick. Fabio Barea made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Xorxe Corvera sent off a good shot on target. CLUB SPORT EMELEC's Gonzalo Veladiez got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Holstein S.V.'s zone, Xorxe Corvera stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabio Barea came out of the goal and Xorxe Corvera tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 86 minutes, Xorxe Corvera put it in 0-8 from a short distance just to the right of Fabio Barea. Fabio Barea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xorxe Corvera, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. With his leg Fabio Barea managed to avoid a goal in the 95thth minute, when CLUB SPORT EMELEC's Xorxe Corvera fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Kaviedes Valcuende received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Agustín Chandivilla tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Holstein S.V. fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. CLUB SPORT EMELEC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
