Spectators: 6680 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1680, VIP seats: 0) Aires Heyros started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After a defensive mix-up in UD Guachala's zone, Xavion Saldivar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bone Raiz came out of the goal and Xavion Saldivar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Atletico Guayaquil FC's Paulo Toralino got a free kick in the 5th minute. Nestor Corel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arévalo Carda in the 12th minute of the match. Mendez Cianca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nestor Corel having to interfere. Arévalo Carda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of UD Guachala booed when Atletico Guayaquil FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silvio Alonzo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nestor Corel made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Mendez Cianca sent off a good shot on target. UD Guachala's Bone Raiz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xavion Saldivar in the 35th minute of play. The supporters of UD Guachala booed when Atletico Guayaquil FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chico Fardi didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Arévalo Carda was the one to do the kick off. Bone Raiz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Xavion Saldivar in the 53rd minute. Bone Raiz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aires Heyros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nestor Corel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mendez Cianca in the 66th minute of the match. When Arévalo Carda came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the UD Guachala fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arévalo Carda couldn't finish the play. If Mendez Cianca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 78th minute, Xantalen Feyto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bone Raiz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aires Heyros's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. 90 minutes into the match, UD Guachala's goalkeeper Bone Raiz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Xavion Saldivar. After 91 played minutes Atletico Guayaquil FC got a freekick which was hit by Ramiro Candelaria. Mendez Cianca took the ball and in the 97 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nestor Corel. Nestor Corel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the UD Guachala players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
