Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Teodoro Muriedas in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Freddy Cañas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of San Fransisco de Quito booed when Anafo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teodoro Muriedas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Teo Alamo charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Teo Alamo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 23 played minutes Anafo got a freekick which was hit by Teo Alamo. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Xavies Claramonte in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Freddy Cañas saved San Fransisco de Quito from getting behind. González Pinedo hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Xavies Claramonte recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Xavies Claramonte scored 0-2 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Freddy Cañas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, San Fransisco de Quito's Jacobo Ascargorta got a free kick in the 46th minute. Manuel Gondin took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 47th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Freddy Cañas. San Fransisco de Quito's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Teodoro Muriedas to make the kick off. In the 54th minute of the match Anafo got a corner. San Fransisco de Quito's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Manuel Gondin ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Manuel Gondin almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but San Fransisco de Quito's Freddy Cañas did a great save. Xavies Claramonte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Freddy Cañas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Xavies Claramonte came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Anafo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Xavies Claramonte couldn't finish the play. A collision led to San Fransisco de Quito getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Jacobo Ascargorta hit a great ball. With an all-out effort, Anafo's Freddy Cañas threw himself towards the right post 61 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Teodoro Muriedas, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Ambrossi Caloca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lorenzo Rojica in the 65th minute of play. Teodoro Muriedas struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Freddy Cañas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Anafo. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teodoro Muriedas in the 76th minute of play forced San Fransisco de Quito's goalkeeper Freddy Cañas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ambrossi Caloca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aurelio Fontanez in the 79th minute of play. A collision led to Anafo getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Rubén Carriles hit a great ball. When Aurelio Fontanez came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the San Fransisco de Quito fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aurelio Fontanez couldn't finish the play. Lorenzo Rojica sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ambrossi Caloca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lorenzo Rojica in the 90th minute of the match. When Xavies Claramonte came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Anafo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Xavies Claramonte couldn't finish the play.
