The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teodoro Horcajo in the 5th minute of play forced Gualel's goalkeeper Timoteo Madera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Teodoro Horcajo's late challenge caught a Gualel's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Teodoro Horcajo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 6th match minute, Zapotal SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teodoro Horcajo to maneuver through the defense. Corozo Abaunza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gualel's Timoteo Madera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Gualel from getting a goal against them. In the 13th match minute, Zapotal SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Criban Ladra to maneuver through the defense. Minda Aparicio took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 14th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Alberto Fontecavada. Zapotal SC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Zapotal SC's Corozo Abaunza got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 21 minutes into the game, Teodoro Horcajo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Timoteo Madera. Teodoro Horcajo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. In the 27th match minute, Gualel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paz Mendiguren to maneuver through the defense. In the 32nd minute, Corozo Abaunza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 33 minutes, Denis Terrazas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zapotal SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Denis Terrazas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Denis Terrazas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Teodoro Horcajo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Timoteo Madera having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Gualel's zone, Criban Ladra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Timoteo Madera came out of the goal and Criban Ladra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Denis Terrazas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 57 minutes, Candelario Zadaya managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zapotal SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Candelario Zadaya was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alberto Fontecavada took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Balado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Timoteo Madera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Denis Terrazas, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Timoteo Madera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Denis Terrazas in the 65th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 70 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Teodoro Horcajo sped through Gualel's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Timoteo Madera. Corozo Abaunza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Zapotal SC's Teodoro Horcajo in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Zapotal SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Teodoro Horcajo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Timoteo Madera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Teodoro Horcajo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Timoteo Madera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gualel's Timoteo Madera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teodoro Horcajo in the 88th minute of play. 89 minutes into the match, Gualel's goal looked a bit too open when Denis Terrazas came free, but Timoteo Madera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Gualel's zone, Denis Terrazas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Timoteo Madera came out of the goal and Denis Terrazas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Teodoro Horcajo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teodoro Horcajo in the 93rd minute of play forced Gualel's goalkeeper Timoteo Madera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Teodoro Horcajo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Timoteo Madera was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. When the referee ended the match the Zapotal SC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
