In the 6th match minute, Vicente Leon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lavalle Dieguez to maneuver through the defense. In the 6th minute of the match Sebastian Fasgar sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eugenio Alvaredo skillfully saved the ball. Texeira Frecha stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pedro Gatnau's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. When the match clock showed 9 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Lavalle Dieguez sped through S.D. RAYO's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Texeira Frecha. After some careless play in the S.D. RAYO defense, Lavalle Dieguez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Texeira Frecha. The S.D. RAYO fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Texeira Frecha should have stopped the shot. Leo Barbosa scored 3-0 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Texeira Frecha, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 21 minutes into the game, Mercado Mañe recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Texeira Frecha. Mercado Mañe showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-0. After a rather tough play, Vicente Leon's Nicolas Behr got a free kick in the 23rd minute. 27 minutes into the match, S.D. RAYO's goal looked a bit too open when Lavalle Dieguez came free, but Texeira Frecha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 28 minutes into the match, Lavalle Dieguez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Texeira Frecha. S.D. RAYO's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lavalle Dieguez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. In the 32nd minute, Lavalle Dieguez fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Texeira Frecha, passed just outside the right post. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Mercado Mañe took a quick shot and it went in 6-0 without a chance for Texeira Frecha to make any attempt to save it. Eugenio Alvaredo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jimmy Unzueta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Texeira Frecha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicolas Behr in the 39th minute of the match. After 40 played minutes S.D. RAYO got a freekick which was hit by Luis-Antonio Vuelva. In the 41st minute, Lavalle Dieguez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lucio Ucedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Eugenio Alvaredo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leo Barbosa couldn't finish the play. In the 57th match minute, S.D. RAYO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucio Ucedo to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 58 minutes, Lavalle Dieguez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vicente Leon's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lavalle Dieguez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eugenio Alvaredo made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Lucio Ucedo sent off a good shot on target. When the match clock showed 66 minutes, the score became 7-0 when Lavalle Dieguez sped through S.D. RAYO's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Texeira Frecha. 72 minutes into the game, Mercado Mañe was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vicente Leon's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave S.D. RAYO the free kick. Rodolfo Ormaechea took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Texeira Frecha. Texeira Frecha dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 8-0. Rodolfo Ormaechea struck a weak shot in the 91st minute.
