The tension between the S.D Quito and the Villacis SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to S.D Quito getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Felipe Torroba hit a great ball. In the 7th minute, Ramón Castells got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Xaven Lortia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luis Cambas in the 10th minute. Victorio Carro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Ponce Fabeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. John Garaizar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Xaven Lortia made a huge save. 15 minutes into the match, Villacis SC's Luis Cambas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Xaven Lortia narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Fidel Yurrita kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Villacis SC's Xuaco Caraduje shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 17th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Xaven Lortia but with some difficulty. S.D Quito's Felipe Torroba got his second yellow card of the match in the 21st minute. The referee ordered Felipe Torroba off the ground. In the 22nd match minute, S.D Quito was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felipe Torroba to maneuver through the defense. In the 24th minute, S.D Quito's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Luis Cambas fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Luis Cambas scored 1-0 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Xaven Lortia, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 46th minute Fabian Tejeyra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xaven Lortia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fabian Tejeyra made a kick off. Xaven Lortia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henry Iros in the 52nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vasco Monta in the 53rd minute of play forced S.D Quito's goalkeeper Xaven Lortia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 58th minute Luis Cambas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xaven Lortia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 60 minutes into the game, Villacis SC's John Garaizar nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Xaven Lortia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Cornelio Aberasturi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Xaven Lortia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabian Tejeyra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Xaven Lortia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabian Tejeyra in the 73rd minute of the match. Villacis SC's Ponce Fabeiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Villacis SC from getting a goal against them. 78 minutes into the game, Villacis SC's John Garaizar nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Xaven Lortia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Thanks to some nice moves Victorio Carro could shoot a difficult shot in the 83rd minute, which Ponce Fabeiro however easily saved by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Villacis SC's zone, Ramón Castells stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ponce Fabeiro came out of the goal and Ramón Castells tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vasco Monta during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 90 minutes into the match, S.D Quito's Ramón Castells broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Victorio Carro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ponce Fabeiro having to interfere. Xaven Lortia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabian Tejeyra in the 95th minute of the match.
