After 3 played minutes Villacis SC got a freekick which was hit by Fabian Tejeyra. Ortiz Mondrevilla struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Ponce Fabeiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for West Town SC. Freddy Ranero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ponce Fabeiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ortiz Mondrevilla in the 7th minute of the match. Fabian Tejeyra kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Maximo Tebergas short, quick shot in the 13thth minute got Ponce Fabeiro to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After having played for 17 minutes, Felix Iturburu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. West Town SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felix Iturburu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of West Town SC booed when Villacis SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. John Garaizar didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Villacis SC's Fabian Tejeyra got a free kick in the 22nd minute. When Ortiz Mondrevilla came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the West Town SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ortiz Mondrevilla couldn't finish the play. West Town SC's Ortiz Mondrevilla got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Villacis SC's zone, Ubelteso Luengas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ponce Fabeiro came out of the goal and Ubelteso Luengas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Felix Iturburu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 41st minute Vasco Monta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Urtsin Ramon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, West Town SC's Ubelteso Luengas got a free kick in the 44th minute. After a rather tough play, West Town SC's Maximo Teberga got a free kick in the 46th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fabian Tejeyra stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Segundo Pestaña's late challenge caught a Villacis SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Segundo Pestaña helped the player get up and apologised. Urtsin Ramon made an important save on a dangerous shot by John Garaizar in the 57th minute. Ponce Fabeiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maximo Teberga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ortiz Mondrevilla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Ponce Fabeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. John Garaizar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Urtsin Ramon made a huge save. The West Town SC manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Villacis SC to win.
