Veronica Valiente hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Vennancio Cembraña stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Espinoza Lena's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. 26 minutes into the game, Espinoza Lena cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Vennancio Cembraña was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of INDEPENDIENTE DEL VALLE booed when Manchester Quito was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilson Garoña didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 29th minute, Zuñiga Laiz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee showed Xavion Suero the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Manchester Quito made a substitution. Alfonso Isasi replaced Hernan Gorria. Xavion Suero kicked well hit freekick during the 49th minute of the match. Vennancio Cembraña made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ponce Coleira in the 50th minute of play. After the first half Manchester Quito were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When Manchester Quito's Alfonso Isasi in the 54th minute got a chance for a shot 54th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Vennancio Cembraña yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. If Alfonso Isasi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 100th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Manchester Quito walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
