The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Libertad Virues kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Cortez Pla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christian Bazo, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Cortez Pla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oscar Leza in the 15th minute of play. 17 minutes into the match, Los Toreros's Oscar Leza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cortez Pla narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Fausto Churruca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cortez Pla came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Los Toreros's Oscar Leza. But to his dismay, Oscar Leza quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Libertad Virues in the 28th minute of play forced Futboro SC's goalkeeper Cortez Pla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Xantalen Ramos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zeledon Nieva was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. If Fausto Churruca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cortez Pla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Libertad Virues, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 34th minute, Christian Bazo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cortez Pla didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Libertad Virues went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. 43 minutes into the match, Los Toreros's goal looked a bit too open when Fausto Churruca came free, but Zeledon Nieva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cortez Pla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guillermo Cuebas in the 45th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fausto Churruca in the 46th minute of play forced Los Toreros's goalkeeper Zeledon Nieva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Xantalen Ramos to make the kick off. Fausto Churruca blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zeledon Nieva having to make a save. Guillermo Cuebas hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. A collision led to Los Toreros getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Marcos Cardet hit a great ball. In the 60th minute, Xantalen Ramos sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Los Toreros's Zeledon Nieva didn't even have to move. If Oscar Leza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cortez Pla was out of position in the 69 minute of play, and Libertad Virues capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Libertad Virues really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. The referee felt a red card was in order, 72 minutes into the game, when Zernin Osuna put in a rough tackle. Zeledon Nieva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jaime Arraña, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xantalen Ramos in the 79th minute of play forced Los Toreros's goalkeeper Zeledon Nieva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 80 minutes, Xantalen Ramos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Futboro SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Xantalen Ramos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Darío Robles's late challenge caught a Futboro SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Darío Robles helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Los Toreros's Darío Robles got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Zeledon Nieva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xantalen Ramos in the 86th minute of play. 87 minutes into the game, one of Los Toreros:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Xantalen Ramos shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fausto Churruca in the 91st minute of play forced Los Toreros's goalkeeper Zeledon Nieva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Libertad Virues got free with Cortez Pla in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 95 minutes into the match, Futboro SC's Fausto Churruca sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zeledon Nieva narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Chants of Los Toreros echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Futboro SC had held the ball for most of the match.
