Justavino Gaztelumendi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Wincenty Golaszewski made a huge save. 15 minutes into the match, Justavino Gaztelumendi dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Wincenty Golaszewski, 1-0. The supporters of SLEP S.C. booed when Independiente de Quito was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gelu Baștină didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th minute, Justavino Gaztelumendi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 21 minutes into the match, Independiente de Quito's Justavino Gaztelumendi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wincenty Golaszewski narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Justavino Gaztelumendi in the 24th minute of play forced SLEP S.C.'s goalkeeper Wincenty Golaszewski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Independiente de Quito's goal looked a bit too open when Ludomil Pacholewski came free, but Marcelo Cardiel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 28 minutes of play, Independiente de Quito's Justavino Gaztelumendi made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wincenty Golaszewski was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of SLEP S.C. booed when Independiente de Quito was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luisito Caton didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 41 minutes, Ubendu Carreiras mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Independiente de Quito and the SLEP S.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ubendu Carreiras hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Marcelo Cardiel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benicio Abechuco in the 43rd minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Independiente de Quito's Frutos Ceja was substituted for Cotera Barrueta. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Benicio Abechuco made a kick off. Marcelo Cardiel made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Benicio Abechuco sent off a good shot on target. After 58 minutes Independiente de Quito's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Benicio Abechuco who took care of the corner kick. Marcelo Cardiel made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Ludomil Pacholewski sent off a good shot on target. In the 62nd minute, Benicio Abechuco ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcelo Cardiel was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Justavino Gaztelumendi might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wincenty Golaszewski. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Justavino Gaztelumendi ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 70th match minute, SLEP S.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henrik Kerkhove to maneuver through the defense. Justavino Gaztelumendi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 83rd match minute, Independiente de Quito was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luisito Caton to maneuver through the defense. Justavino Gaztelumendi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of Independiente de Quito booed when SLEP S.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel Aguiar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ubendu Carreiras received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Wincenty Golaszewski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
