Ubendu Villaraud thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Díaz Olaiz, a very annoying self made goal in the 13th minute which led to 1-1. When Clemente Lloves came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Atletas de Cristo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Clemente Lloves couldn't finish the play. Atletas de Cristo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cango the free kick. The supporters of Cango booed when Atletas de Cristo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cesar Servin didn't get a good kick on the ball. 34 minutes into the match, Atletas de Cristo's goal looked a bit too open when Javier Orengo came free, but Díaz Olaiz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Patricio Roches came out of the goal and Cesar Servin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Patricio Roches was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Clemente Lloves showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-1 in the 40 minute of play. Clemente Lloves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Patricio Roches tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clemente Lloves in the 47th minute of play forced Cango's goalkeeper Patricio Roches to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-1.

The wind increased when Javier Orengo made the kick off in the second half. Cesar Servin was shown his second yellow card after 55 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 56th match minute, Atletas de Cristo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cesar Servin to maneuver through the defense. After 60 played minutes Cango got a freekick which was hit by Ubaldo Pola. Zuhaitz Buzon took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 61st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Patricio Roches. Cango's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 64 played minutes Atletas de Cristo got a freekick which was hit by Telmo Olivares. The ball had pretty good speed, but Díaz Olaiz firmly grabbed it by the left post. 75 minutes into the match, Wilmer Peruyera had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Díaz Olaiz. Atletas de Cristo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wilmer Peruyera was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-3. Atletas de Cristo's Telmo Olivares got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 85th minute, Ubendu Villaraud hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 86 minutes into the match, Cango's Ubaldo Pola broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Pablo Sisalde managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atletas de Cristo's supporters rose to their feet, but Pablo Sisalde was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Patricio Roches breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Telmo Olivares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience held their breath when Telmo Olivares in the 97th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Patricio Roches's left hand side. 100 minutes into the game, Raimundo Toraño threw the ball into play from the sideline. Atletas de Cristo's Telmo Olivares quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion.
