In the 3rd minute, Xzavier Olaondo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcelo Cardiel was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Ramiro Mendivil didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jurand Tarasek went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. A collision led to GiudeCCa getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Xencio Busvidad hit a great ball. When Jurand Tarasek came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Independiente de Quito fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jurand Tarasek couldn't finish the play. Jurand Tarasek took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ramiro Mendivil. Ramiro Mendivil dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. In the 22nd match minute, Independiente de Quito was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luisito Caton to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 22 minutes, Victoriano Viguri managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. GiudeCCa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Victoriano Viguri was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Independiente de Quito's Jurand Tarasek got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 32 played minutes GiudeCCa got a freekick which was hit by Xencio Busvidad. Ionuț Aldulea struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Ramiro Mendivil didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Independiente de Quito. Ramiro Mendivil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jurand Tarasek in the 35th minute of the match. After 36 minutes of play, Independiente de Quito's Jurand Tarasek made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ramiro Mendivil was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ramiro Mendivil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jurand Tarasek in the 40th minute of the match. Xzavier Olaondo's late challenge caught a Independiente de Quito's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Xzavier Olaondo helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, GiudeCCa's Xzavier Olaondo got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Ramiro Mendivil stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jurand Tarasek's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Jurand Tarasek made the kick off in the second half. In the 59th minute Jurand Tarasek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ramiro Mendivil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind GiudeCCa's goalkeeper Ramiro Mendivil, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Jurand Tarasek fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Independiente de Quito's protests and gave Jurand Tarasek a yellow card for diving instead. After 67 played minutes Independiente de Quito got a freekick which was hit by Jurand Tarasek. Ramiro Mendivil made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jurand Tarasek in the 68th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jurand Tarasek got free with Ramiro Mendivil in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Independiente de Quito's Jurand Tarasek was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 75th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. 84 minutes into the game, Justavino Gaztelumendi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-5. Ramiro Mendivil was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 97 minutes into the match, GiudeCCa's goalkeeper Ramiro Mendivil had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Neicer Fontanes. Independiente de Quito's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
