The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Independiente de Quito's Jurand Tarasek got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ubendu Carreiras sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 12th minute Jurand Tarasek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Calderón Barriga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to ChOLaSsO getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Henry Soto hit a great ball. Felipe Barricat kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the match, Jurand Tarasek notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of ChOLaSsO's Calderón Barriga. Calderón Barriga was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience was convinced that Jurand Tarasek's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Calderón Barriga was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. In the 28th minute, Ubendu Carreiras made a precise shot to the right of Calderón Barriga. ChOLaSsO's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. After having played for 31 minutes, Reyes Marin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ChOLaSsO's supporters crossed their fingers, but Reyes Marin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jurand Tarasek's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Calderón Barriga read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. Reyes Marin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Marcelo Cardiel made a huge save. Calderón Barriga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jurand Tarasek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 47th minute Jurand Tarasek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Calderón Barriga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

After having played for 57 minutes, Neicer Fontanes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Independiente de Quito's supporters crossed their fingers, but Neicer Fontanes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Calderón Barriga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jurand Tarasek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. ChOLaSsO's defense didn't have a chance, in the 63rd minute, when Ubendu Carreiras scored to the left of an out of position Calderón Barriga, making the score, 0-3. When Henry Soto fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ChOLaSsO's protests and gave Henry Soto a yellow card for diving instead. After 66 played minutes ChOLaSsO got a freekick which was hit by Henry Soto. Calderón Barriga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jurand Tarasek in the 68th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 72 minutes, Calderón Barriga successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When the match clock showed 79 minutes, the score became 0-5 when Justavino Gaztelumendi sped through ChOLaSsO's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Calderón Barriga. ChOLaSsO's Calderón Barriga proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save ChOLaSsO from getting a goal against them. If Felipe Barricat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Calderón Barriga came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Independiente de Quito's Neicer Fontanes. But to his dismay, Neicer Fontanes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-6. With his leg Calderón Barriga managed to avoid a goal in the 92ndth minute, when Independiente de Quito's Justavino Gaztelumendi fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ubendu Carreiras sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 96th minute, Justavino Gaztelumendi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Calderón Barriga was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-7. When the match was over Independiente de Quito could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than ChOLaSsO throughout the match.
