The referee ignored Flores United's protests and gave Luisito Mederi a yellow card for diving instead. Etienne Primavera recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 9th minute Iván Kaviedes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roberto Bermudo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With his leg Victor Andreu managed to avoid a goal in the 12thth minute, when River Plate's Ignacio Lauro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Matthias Larsfält kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Rafael de la Rosa hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. River Plate's Roberto Bermudo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iván Kaviedes in the 21st minute of play. Rafael de la Rosa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Victor Andreu made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as River Plate's Ignacio Lauro slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Victor Andreu. That made the score 2-0 after 32 minutes of play. 37 minutes into the match, Flores United's goal looked a bit too open when Stalin Cabezuela came free, but Victor Andreu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Flores United getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Iván Kaviedes hit a great ball. In the 38th minute, Stalin Cabezuela reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Victor Andreu. The goal made the score 3-0. After 41 played minutes River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Fulgencio Tolino. Matthias Larsfält sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Victor Andreu made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Ignacio Lauro sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of River Plate booed when Flores United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iván Kaviedes didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Flores United getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Bottero Resines hit a great ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Victor Andreu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stalin Cabezuela in the 54th minute of play. 55 minutes into the match, Flores United's goal looked a bit too open when Rafael de la Rosa came free, but Victor Andreu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 55 minutes, Ahmet Oğuz Kanber mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Flores United and the River Plate players grew even worse after the yellow card. But to his dismay, Rafael de la Rosa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-1. In the 92nd minute Rafael de la Rosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victor Andreu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 93rd minute, Jonatan Rioseco made a precise shot to the right of Victor Andreu. Flores United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 8-1. River Plate walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
