The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fernando Maluenda in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arboleda Armea saved Racing FC from getting behind. The supporters of UD Lluillan booed when Racing FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mateo Manojo didn't get a good kick on the ball. UD Lluillan's Óskar Angileri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samaniego Lasalde in the 9th minute of play. In the 11th match minute, UD Lluillan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alonso Crujeiras to maneuver through the defense. In the 13th minute of the match, Samaniego Lasalde got a very nice opportunity to score, but Óskar Angileri was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 23 minutes had been played when some careless play by Racing FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Urdaspal Limofer was slow to take the kick. During this time UD Lluillan's players had a chance to rest. The corner led UD Lluillan's Urdaspal Limofer to fire away a dangerous shot which Arboleda Armea despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 38th match minute, Racing FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernández Enestrosa to maneuver through the defense. Racing FC's Arboleda Armea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Candelario Luaces in the 45th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Candelario Luaces made a kick off. Arboleda Armea made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fernando Maluenda in the 53rd minute. Óskar Angileri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samaniego Lasalde, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. UD Lluillan's Candelario Luaces got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Through an outstanding action, after 70 minutes, Arboleda Armea successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Racing FC's Arboleda Armea proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Racing FC from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Candelario Luaces in the 81st minute of play forced Racing FC's goalkeeper Arboleda Armea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 83rd minute, Candelario Luaces made a precise shot to the right of Arboleda Armea. Racing FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave UD Lluillan the free kick. In the 95th minute, Urdaspal Limofer sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Racing FC's Arboleda Armea didn't even have to move. The UD Lluillan supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing UD Lluillan would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
