A very good chance. 25 minutes into the match, Barbudos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ramiro Lino came free, but Martin Conde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 26 minutes Barbudos FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ximun Castruita who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Ximun Castruita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Barbudos FC's Martin Conde did a great save. 34 minutes into the match, Barbudos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fred Meireles came free, but Martin Conde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Krister Bergdal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zuriko Golmayo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Barbudos FC booed when AC Florida was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonides Alaiza didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Barbudos FC's zone, Fred Meireles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Martin Conde came out of the goal and Fred Meireles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to AC Florida getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Ximun Castruita hit a great ball. The AC Florida fans' excitement grew in the 46th match minute when AC Florida's Ramiro Lino looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

If Fred Meireles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 60th minute, Fred Meireles got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 62 minutes, Ohto Vuori mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AC Florida and the Barbudos FC players grew even worse after the yellow card.
