Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Independiente de Quito's Anangonó Jaen started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Anangonó Jaen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 6 minutes into the game, Xanti Francia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Independiente de Quito's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vendetta FC the free kick. After 6 played minutes Independiente de Quito got a freekick which was hit by Xanti Francia. The supporters of Vendetta FC booed when Independiente de Quito was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Loco Surga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Independiente de Quito's Vasco Codina played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Angelo Goicoechea in the 10th minute of play. After 17th play minutes Anangonó Jaen shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Vellito Barrenechea and just under the crossbar into goal. Vellito Barrenechea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ferrer Fito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 29th match minute, Independiente de Quito was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Delgado Serantes to maneuver through the defense. 30 minutes into the game, Angelo Goicoechea cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Vasco Codina was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Zeru Conti kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Angelo Goicoechea to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Vendetta FC booed when Independiente de Quito was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Santos Albarellos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ferrer Fito recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 67 minutes into the match, Angelo Goicoechea notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Independiente de Quito's Vasco Codina. Vasco Codina was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Xanti Francia was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 71 minutes had been played. After 72 played minutes Independiente de Quito got a freekick which was hit by Xanti Francia. In the 73rd minute of the match Luciano Surga shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vasco Codina showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Zeru Conti kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. In the 75th minute Angelo Goicoechea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vasco Codina saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Villafuerte Ibarzabal during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 89th minute of the game. One of Vendetta FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Independiente de Quito:s goal. Santos Albarellos shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Anangonó Jaen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Independiente de Quito's supporters rose to their feet, but Anangonó Jaen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vellito Barrenechea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Santos Albarellos hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Independiente de Quito's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
