The CD Ceilan fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ataulfo Enciso should have stopped the shot. If Zornin Albalate had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Atlético Estudiantil's Rolando Briones played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Asensio Gordo in the 29th minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Urdaspal Areta reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ataulfo Enciso. The goal made the score 2-2. Rolando Briones made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aguirre Gallano in the 36th minute of play. Blandón Lazaro kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. A hard shot 44 in the game by Blandón Lazaro from a close distance when the talented Ataulfo Enciso managed to make a qualified save. CD Ceilan's players were relieved. The CD Ceilan fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. Atlético Estudiantil's Rolando Briones proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Atlético Estudiantil from getting a goal against them. In the 80th minute, CD Ceilan's Jácome Vielva seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Jácome Vielva the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of CD Ceilan protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Jácome Vielva had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 80 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for CD Ceilan! In the 83rd minute there was a penalty for Atlético Estudiantil. CD Ceilan's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Blandón Lazaro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-3. Urdaspal Areta's late challenge caught a CD Ceilan's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Urdaspal Areta helped the player get up and apologised. Urdaspal Areta kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. CD Ceilan's Zornin Albalate got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Atlético Estudiantil fans cheered their team off the field, for while CD Ceilan had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
