Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Navarro Puente got the match started through his kick off. The supporters of UD Boqueron booed when Universidad Catolica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Walter Montalvo didn't get a good kick on the ball. UD Boqueron's Cortez Pumeral got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 20th minute, Iza Iruz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Universidad Catolica fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Navarro Puente got free with Anibal Ybarbo in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 27 minutes of play, Universidad Catolica's Baldeón Gobantes made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wellington Corroto was left in no man's land by his defense there! Zayvion Llama received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Anibal Ybarbo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 41st minute, Navarro Puente got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpected shot in the 43rd minute by Cristian Guera got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Anibal Ybarbo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Navarro Puente in the 45th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Cristian Guera managed to get in a good position for a shot. UD Boqueron's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Guera was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anibal Ybarbo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Iza Iruz to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, UD Boqueron's goalkeeper Wellington Corroto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Segundo Barbadillo. A collision led to Universidad Catolica getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Denis Andrade hit a great ball. In the 71st minute of the match Cristian Guera shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Anibal Ybarbo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 73 minutes into the match, Navarro Puente notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Universidad Catolica's Anibal Ybarbo. Anibal Ybarbo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. UD Boqueron's Wellington Corroto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save UD Boqueron from getting a goal against them. When Cortez Pumeral came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the UD Boqueron fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cortez Pumeral couldn't finish the play. If Cortez Pumeral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 88th minute, one of UD Boqueron:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for UD Boqueron. Cortez Pumeral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Universidad Catolica's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
