Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Virgen de la Merced's Americo Bilbao started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Virgen de la Merced! Infierno Turco de Ecuador's Franklin Simancas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Infierno Turco de Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Xesus Sevane struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Franklin Simancas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Virgen de la Merced. In the 12th minute Xesus Sevane shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Franklin Simancas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xesus Sevane in the 14th minute of play forced Infierno Turco de Ecuador's goalkeeper Franklin Simancas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jorge Villar took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Franklin Simancas. Franklin Simancas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Poroso Villalva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucio Pablo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Franklin Simancas came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Virgen de la Merced's Jorge Villar. But to his dismay, Jorge Villar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Reasco Freijo hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Raimundo Sator hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Raimundo Sator managed to get in a good position for a shot. Infierno Turco de Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Raimundo Sator was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Poroso Villalva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Xulio Viguera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Franklin Simancas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Americo Bilbao, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Xavian Varsana was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xesus Sevane in the 51st minute of play forced Infierno Turco de Ecuador's goalkeeper Franklin Simancas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Virgen de la Merced booed when Infierno Turco de Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raimundo Sator didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Jairo Padrones fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Infierno Turco de Ecuador's protests and gave Jairo Padrones a yellow card for diving instead. After 54 played minutes Infierno Turco de Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Jairo Padrones. Franklin Simancas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xesus Sevane, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Franklin Simancas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xesus Sevane in the 61st minute of the match. 62 minutes into the match, Infierno Turco de Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Americo Bilbao came free, but Franklin Simancas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Xacobo Serans hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. In the 71st minute, Americo Bilbao got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 73rd minute, Americo Bilbao left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Virgen de la Merced fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Infierno Turco de Ecuador's Franklin Simancas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xesus Sevane in the 79th minute of play. When Lucio Pablo came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Infierno Turco de Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lucio Pablo couldn't finish the play. In the 88th minute Americo Bilbao shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Franklin Simancas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Americo Bilbao's late challenge caught a Infierno Turco de Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Americo Bilbao helped the player get up and apologised. Americo Bilbao kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. In the 95th minute Jorge Villar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Franklin Simancas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Virgen de la Merced's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
