The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cuenca S.C's Guillermo Pontones played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samaniego Perlacia in the 4th minute of play. Nils Boede made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eduardo Navariega in the 6th minute of play. When Pepe Torralba fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hacha SC's protests and gave Pepe Torralba a yellow card for diving instead. Xulio Arvelo struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Nils Boede didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cuenca S.C. After 17 minutes Hacha SC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Cortez Gill who took care of the corner kick. Campos Orellan hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Guillermo Pontones showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gonzalo Plata in the 20th minute of the match. When Xulio Arvelo came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Cuenca S.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Xulio Arvelo couldn't finish the play. Nils Boede showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eduardo Navariega in the 26th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute, Gonzalo Plata ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Guillermo Pontones was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Nils Boede made an important save on a dangerous shot by Xulio Arvelo in the 38th minute. Nils Boede showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eduardo Navariega in the 40th minute of the match. Cuenca S.C's Carabalí Quelia has a good shot, but didn't show it this time. The shot went over the crossbar in the 42nd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Xulio Arvelo during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Xulio Arvelo hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Eduardo Navariega made the kick off in the second half. Nils Boede took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eduardo Navariega, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nils Boede showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eduardo Navariega in the 53rd minute of the match. 54 minutes into the match, Hacha SC's goal looked a bit too open when Xulio Arvelo came free, but Nils Boede reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hacha SC's Nils Boede played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armando Alamea in the 66th minute of play. Xulio Arvelo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nils Boede read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. Guillermo Pontones made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gonzalo Plata in the 72nd minute. Cuenca S.C's Xulio Arvelo got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eduardo Navariega fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nils Boede having to interfere. Xorxe Caballeiro hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Hacha SC's zone, Armando Alamea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nils Boede came out of the goal and Armando Alamea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Campos Orellan charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Campos Orellan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 88th match minute, Cuenca S.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Campos Orellan to maneuver through the defense. Pepe Torralba took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 89th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Guillermo Pontones. Cuenca S.C's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Xorxe Caballeiro kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Eduardo Navariega received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Nils Boede tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Hacha SC getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Pepe Torralba hit a great ball. Eduardo Navariega recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 98th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cuenca S.C were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Hacha SC to leave the ground with a draw.
