But to his dismay, Elkin Lucena quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. 41 minutes into the match, Atahualpa SC's goal looked a bit too open when Geovanni Zalon came free, but Mane Varandalla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Americo Bertin during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 47 played minutes Tanchiguo got a freekick which was hit by Americo Bertin. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Geovanni Zalon to strike the kick off in the second half. Mane Varandalla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Americo Bertin, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. 64 minutes into the game, Rios Erruz recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Mane Varandalla. Rios Erruz showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-5. In the 70thth minute of the game Americo Bertin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Atahualpa SC's Mane Varandalla was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Geovanni Zalon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 76th minute, Fred Locke ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mane Varandalla was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-6. After having played for 79 minutes, Geovanni Zalon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tanchiguo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Geovanni Zalon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mane Varandalla was a little too slow when Rios Erruz got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 80th minute. The score was now 2-7. Mane Varandalla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rios Erruz, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. After 86 minutes of play, Atahualpa SC's Navarro Garay made it 3-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Argi Barron was left in no man's land by his defense there! 89 minutes into the game, Atahualpa SC's Elkin Lucena nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Argi Barron made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-7. Mane Varandalla acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 96th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Veronica Pola.
