Lucio Pablo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Mane Varandalla tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Elkin Lucena took the ball and in the 9 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Franklin Simancas. Franklin Simancas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After some careless play in the Infierno Turco de Ecuador defense, Xavion Velis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Franklin Simancas. The Infierno Turco de Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Franklin Simancas should have stopped the shot. Jairo Padrones charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jairo Padrones the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 17th minute, Jairo Padrones hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Infierno Turco de Ecuador's goalkeeper Franklin Simancas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Infierno Turco de Ecuador's Bolívar Palos got a free kick in the 19th minute. Franklin Simancas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elkin Lucena, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Vito Villalobos hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. After 33 played minutes Infierno Turco de Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Jairo Padrones. Atahualpa SC's Mane Varandalla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucio Pablo in the 38th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flavio Cotarelo in the 40th minute of play forced Infierno Turco de Ecuador's goalkeeper Franklin Simancas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lucio Pablo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Mane Varandalla tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Xulio Viguera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The wind increased when Xavian Varsana made the kick off in the second half. Xulio Viguera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Mane Varandalla tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Xulio Viguera's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mane Varandalla read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. 53 minutes into the match, Xulio Viguera notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Atahualpa SC's Mane Varandalla. Mane Varandalla was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mane Varandalla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xavian Varsana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xulio Viguera in the 59th minute of play forced Atahualpa SC's goalkeeper Mane Varandalla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elkin Lucena might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Franklin Simancas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Elkin Lucena ran back to his position shaking his head. Franklin Simancas made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Navarro Garay sent off a good shot on target. Xavian Varsana might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mane Varandalla. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Xavian Varsana ran back to his position shaking his head. After 71 played minutes Atahualpa SC got a freekick which was hit by Humberto Zulueta. After having played for 72 minutes, Lucio Pablo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Infierno Turco de Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lucio Pablo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 73 played minutes Atahualpa SC got a freekick which was hit by Humberto Zulueta. Raimundo Sator hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Navarro Garay recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Elkin Lucena came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Atahualpa SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elkin Lucena couldn't finish the play. Xulio Viguera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Mane Varandalla tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Atahualpa SC's Mane Varandalla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucio Pablo in the 91st minute of play. If Lucio Pablo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Atahualpa SC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Atahualpa SC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
