Spectators: 8394 (Terracing: 6344, Seating: 1881, VIP seats: 169) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Pål Jönsson got the match started through his kick off. Costin Dragota was a little too slow when Kaviedes Burgueño got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 4th minute. The score was now 1-0. In the 10th minute, Pål Jönsson made a precise shot to the right of Andres Viñe. Sarayacu's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Roger Odman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guayaquil City's supporters rose to their feet, but Roger Odman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andres Viñe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Guayaquil City's Costin Dragota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kaviedes Burgueño in the 18th minute of play. Veto Carvajal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Costin Dragota made a huge save. After 21 minutes of play, Sarayacu's Ordonez Llibre made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Costin Dragota was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Sarayacu getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Cornelio Umaña hit a great ball. Costin Dragota made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Veto Carvajal sent off a good shot on target. In the 28th minute, Roger Odman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Andres Viñe was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Andres Viñe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacinto Macia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cornelio Umaña lost his temper 36 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 37 played minutes Sarayacu got a freekick which was hit by Cornelio Umaña. Guayaquil City's Pål Jönsson got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 39 minutes into the game, Veto Carvajal recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Costin Dragota. Veto Carvajal showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-2. With a little luck, Guayaquil City's Costin Dragota got control of the ball when Kaviedes Burgueño tried to sneak it across the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-2 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kaviedes Burgueño to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Kaviedes Burgueño notched a goal, 5-2, to the right of Guayaquil City's Costin Dragota. Costin Dragota was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kaviedes Burgueño couldn't finish the play. Ordonez Llibre hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Andres Viñe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roger Odman in the 78th minute of the match. When Veto Carvajal came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Sarayacu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Veto Carvajal couldn't finish the play. Guayaquil City's Costin Dragota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Peter Riguez in the 83rd minute of play. If Kaviedes Burgueño had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peter Riguez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Camilo Garay charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Camilo Garay the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Camilo Garay kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Veto Carvajal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Peter Riguez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Costin Dragota having to interfere.
