With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arturo Forcada prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A well-hit corner resulted in Lucien Senden heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Rodríguez Tome made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kasper Kesting in the 80th minute of play. Iachetti Bernabeytia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Arturo Forcada made a huge save. 86 minutes had been played when some careless play by Quinn Mendieta S. C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Machado Pedrero was slow to take the kick. During this time Liga de Quito's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Machado Pedrero almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Quinn Mendieta S. C.'s Arturo Forcada did a great save. After a defensive mix-up in Quinn Mendieta S.
