The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Hugo Jaramillo made a precise shot to the right of Silvio Morelo. Liga de Quito's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 6 minutes into the game, Buenos Muchachos's Emilio Boix nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Silvio Morelo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. 11 minutes into the match, Emilio Boix had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Silvio Morelo. Liga de Quito's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Emilio Boix was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. 19 minutes into the match, Hugo Jaramillo notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Liga de Quito's Silvio Morelo. Silvio Morelo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Nicolás Carranza scored 0-5 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Silvio Morelo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 32nd play minutes Emilio Boix shot 0-7, a short shot which went by Silvio Morelo and just under the crossbar into goal. If Hugo Jaramillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 41st minute, Emilio Boix ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Silvio Morelo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-9. In the 44th minute Xavier Medel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvio Morelo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 46th minute of the match, Zilar Barcena tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but 乔邦树 saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Emilio Boix had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.

The wind increased when Zilar Barcena made the kick off in the second half. Zilar Barcena struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. 乔邦树 didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Liga de Quito. Silvio Morelo was out of position in the 59 minute of play, and Hugo Jaramillo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Hugo Jaramillo really showed his touch with that goal: 0-11. Silvio Morelo came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Buenos Muchachos's Hugo Jaramillo. But to his dismay, Hugo Jaramillo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-12. After a defensive mix-up in Liga de Quito's zone, Emilio Boix stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Silvio Morelo came out of the goal and Emilio Boix tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 0-13 became the score in the 70th minute when Emilio Boix elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Silvio Morelo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emilio Boix in the 73rd minute of the match. Hugo Jaramillo succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-15 in the 83rd playminute. 86 minutes into the match, Buenos Muchachos's Nicolás Carranza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Silvio Morelo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a little luck, Liga de Quito's Silvio Morelo got control of the ball when Hugo Jaramillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hugo Jaramillo got free with Silvio Morelo in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 96 minutes into the match, Liga de Quito's goal looked a bit too open when Emilio Boix came free, but Silvio Morelo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
