After a rather tough play, ARAUCA FC's Bernardino Brasa got a free kick in the 2nd minute. If Atarratze Costas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. A very good chance. 8 minutes into the match, ARAUCA FC's goal looked a bit too open when Atarratze Costas came free, but Atilano Padrones reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cocuyos FC's Bazil Puertas got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Atilano Padrones showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Atarratze Costas in the 11th minute of the match. After some careless play in the ARAUCA FC defense, Atarratze Costas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Atilano Padrones. The ARAUCA FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Atilano Padrones should have stopped the shot. 18 minutes into the match, ARAUCA FC's goal looked a bit too open when Atarratze Costas came free, but Atilano Padrones reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 20 minutes, Atarratze Costas made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. ARAUCA FC's Atilano Padrones tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 24th minute Bazil Puertas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Atilano Padrones saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 27th minute, Jabier Palencia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 28 minutes into the match, Cocuyos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseo Rubain came free, but Mino Cela reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Bazil Puertas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Atilano Padrones made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Atarratze Costas in the 44th minute of play. Jabier Palencia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mino Cela read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. After the first half Cocuyos FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eliseo Rubain was the one to do the kick off. If Eliseo Rubain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bazil Puertas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cocuyos FC's goalkeeper Mino Cela, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jabier Palencia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mino Cela having to interfere. Mino Cela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseo Rubain, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cocuyos FC's Mino Cela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jabier Palencia in the 75th minute of play. If Eliseo Rubain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 80th minute Eliseo Rubain shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mino Cela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. ARAUCA FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 83rd minute, when Bazil Puertas scored to the left of an out of position Atilano Padrones, making the score, 1-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseo Rubain in the 87th minute of play forced Cocuyos FC's goalkeeper Mino Cela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jabier Palencia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Mino Cela tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Cocuyos FC getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Octavio Gallerreta hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Eliseo Rubain managed to get in a good position for a shot. ARAUCA FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Eliseo Rubain was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mino Cela breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
