Spectators: 7410 (Terracing: 5558, Seating: 1704, VIP seats: 148) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Montxo Ziguenza started the match with the kick off. Nazario Vada kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Bidari Abendano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Toli Pacio in the 14th minute of play. Mateus Ballina was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 16 minutes into the match. Varela:s Zernin Sirguero showed great skill when he stopped Balasi Santoni:s penalty. Estevon Santome sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Xicu Valsera came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Ares Fútbol Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Xicu Valsera couldn't finish the play. Bidari Abendano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Estevon Santome, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. In the 41st minute, Montxo Ziguenza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 44th minute of the match Rutenio Borizar sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Zernin Sirguero skillfully saved the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Estevon Santome was the one to do the kick off. Zernin Sirguero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chap Cercalde in the 52nd minute of play. Montxo Ziguenza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Zernin Sirguero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Varela booed when Ares Fútbol Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rutenio Borizar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bidari Abendano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arano Añe in the 58th minute. In the 60th minute Chap Cercalde shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zernin Sirguero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 61 minutes into the match, Ares Fútbol Club's Chap Cercalde sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zernin Sirguero narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 65th minute of the match, Estevon Santome got a very nice opportunity to score, but Bidari Abendano was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as Estevon Santome kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Bidari Abendano. That made the score 0-1 in the 65 minute of play. Zernin Sirguero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chap Cercalde in the 69th minute of play. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ares Fútbol Club's goalkeeper Bidari Abendano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 76 minutes into the match, Montxo Ziguenza had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zernin Sirguero. Varela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Montxo Ziguenza was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Zernin Sirguero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Montxo Ziguenza in the 81st minute of the match. In the 83rd minute, Ares Fútbol Club's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Estevon Santome fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After 84 played minutes Ares Fútbol Club got a freekick which was hit by Bonifaco Artero. Varela's Arano Añe shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 85th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Bidari Abendano but with some difficulty. Ares Fútbol Club's Chap Cercalde got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Chap Cercalde blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zernin Sirguero having to make a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Estevon Santome got free with Bidari Abendano in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Montxo Ziguenza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zernin Sirguero having to interfere. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
