Deportivo Cali C.F's Manolito Cebada played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bonifaco Arruta in the 16th minute of play. Manolito Cebada showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bautista Salamanca in the 18th minute of the match. Laureano Artizar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Mincho Mauriz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Loiola Aldaeta's late challenge caught a Atletico Junior's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Loiola Aldaeta helped the player get up and apologised. Loiola Aldaeta hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. The supporters of Atletico Junior booed when Deportivo Cali C.F was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edwardo Espada didn't get a good kick on the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 37 minutes, Manolito Cebada successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Madaleno Garaizabal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manolito Cebada having to interfere. 41 minutes into the game, Bautista Salamanca recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Manolito Cebada. Bautista Salamanca showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Madaleno Garaizabal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manolito Cebada having to interfere. 47 minutes into the match, Bautista Salamanca dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Manolito Cebada, 2-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Laureano Artizar was the one to do the kick off. When Madaleno Garaizabal came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Atletico Junior fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Madaleno Garaizabal couldn't finish the play. Bautista Salamanca took the ball and in the 59 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Manolito Cebada. Manolito Cebada dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. If Madaleno Garaizabal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manolito Cebada showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bautista Salamanca in the 72nd minute of the match. Manolito Cebada showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bautista Salamanca, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. 77 minutes into the match, Bautista Salamanca had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Manolito Cebada. Deportivo Cali C.F's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bautista Salamanca was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Bautista Salamanca took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Manolito Cebada. Manolito Cebada dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. 84 minutes into the match, Deportivo Cali C.F's goal looked a bit too open when Madaleno Garaizabal came free, but Manolito Cebada reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Madaleno Garaizabal struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Manolito Cebada didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atletico Junior. Deportivo Cali C.F's attentive Loiola Aldaeta managed to snatch the ball when Aquilino Galaz made a throw-in in the 96th minute of the game. Atletico Junior's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
