The supporters of Patla FC booed when Madrigal FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mikel Leceta didn't get a good kick on the ball. 22 minutes into the game, Patla FC's Gilberto Guiluz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. After a defensive mix-up in Patla FC's zone, Mikel Leceta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Taio Castañera came out of the goal and Mikel Leceta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Patla FC getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Guillermo Barzurqueta hit a great ball. Hugo Nueva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilberto Guiluz in the 46th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Menendo Ciriaca was the one to do the kick off. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Patla FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
