Justo Durazo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Humberto Aumada, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Humberto Aumada in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Justo Durazo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alberino Cerrajero's late challenge caught a Quimbay FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alberino Cerrajero helped the player get up and apologised. In the 22nd minute, Humberto Aumada got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Justo Durazo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Humberto Aumada in the 32nd minute of play. The supporters of Marquita FC booed when Quimbay FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tome Olave didn't get a good kick on the ball. Matro Trelles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Humberto Aumada received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Justo Durazo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Matthew Rioja took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Justo Durazo. Justo Durazo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Matthew Rioja to make the kick off. Matthew Rioja sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 57th minute Matro Trelles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pirmin Socarras saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Gorri Carasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Humberto Aumada got free with Justo Durazo in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Humberto Aumada had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Quimbay FC's Matthew Rioja got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Justo Durazo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Humberto Aumada, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. If Matro Trelles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Humberto Aumada blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Justo Durazo having to make a save. Humberto Aumada could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 98th minute of the match, but Justo Durazo made a huge save. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
