With 4 minutes on the clock, Nando Escobedo commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 3rd minute of the game. One of Cairano:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mahoma:s goal. Cairano:s Raul Gañona showed great skill when he stopped Roque Jate:s penalty. In the 6th minute of the match Mahoma got a corner. Cairano's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Roque Jate ran over to the corner to take the kick. If Berart Roxas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 15th match minute, Cairano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Epifanio Arrazola to maneuver through the defense. Roque Jate, 16 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After a rather tough play, Mahoma's Roque Jate got a free kick in the 19th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Cairano's zone, Berart Roxas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Raul Gañona came out of the goal and Berart Roxas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Berart Roxas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Silvestre Canillas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cairano's supporters rose to their feet, but Silvestre Canillas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maria Bengoechea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 72 minutes, Lope Chapital mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mahoma and the Cairano players grew even worse after the yellow card. Maria Bengoechea was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Mahoma's zone, Silvestre Canillas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maria Bengoechea came out of the goal and Silvestre Canillas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cairano's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
