The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When the match had gone on for 5 minutes, Fe Mediano put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Olando Adurza. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Flavio Era in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Olando Adurza prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Fe Mediano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Olando Adurza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flavio Era, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 18th match minute, Travesia FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Charro Herce to maneuver through the defense. If Flavio Era had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Flavio Era might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Olando Adurza. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Flavio Era ran back to his position shaking his head. Fe Mediano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Olando Adurza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 35th minute Flavio Era shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olando Adurza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Olando Adurza stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Flavio Era's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fe Mediano in the 37th minute of play forced Travesia FC's goalkeeper Olando Adurza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mikolas Querendil during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Popales booed when Travesia FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mikolas Querendil didn't get a good kick on the ball. Flavio Era received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Olando Adurza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 45th minute, Hegoi Morata hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Flavio Era came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Popales fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Flavio Era couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After a rather tough play, Popales's Nesto Carvajal got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Zosimo Piñon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fix Montoya in the 54th minute of the match. In the 55th match minute, Popales was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dunixi Rebenga to maneuver through the defense. Basilio Ponte's late challenge caught a Travesia FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Basilio Ponte helped the player get up and apologised. In the 57th match minute, Popales was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Basilio Ponte to maneuver through the defense. Popales's Zosimo Piñon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fix Montoya in the 62nd minute of play. Flavio Era fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olando Adurza having to interfere. Flavio Era received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Olando Adurza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fe Mediano got free with Olando Adurza in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Popales's zone, Fix Montoya stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zosimo Piñon came out of the goal and Fix Montoya tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 91 minutes into the match, Travesia FC's Laurentzi Morros sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zosimo Piñon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Popales's goalkeeper Zosimo Piñon, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Fix Montoya's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zosimo Piñon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. Fe Mediano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olando Adurza having to interfere. Fe Mediano struck a weak shot in the 99th minute. Olando Adurza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Popales. Popales played a much better game than Travesia FC and deserved their victory. The Travesia FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
