Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Mazuste Maquilanda started the match with the kick off. In the 2nd minute Patxi Marina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victoriano Aspurua saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Erramun Esqueira's late challenge caught a Lejanias's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Erramun Esqueira helped the player get up and apologised. In the 3rd minute, Erramun Esqueira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Mazuste Maquilanda's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cornelio Pumar was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. In the 9th minute, Valdo Albear got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mazuste Maquilanda recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Ubala booed when Lejanias was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Goren Sarricolea didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 16 minutes, Mazuste Maquilanda managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ubala's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mazuste Maquilanda was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 20th minute, Mark Arriano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Valdo Albear came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Ubala fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valdo Albear couldn't finish the play. After 27 minutes, Mazuste Maquilanda made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Lejanias's Cornelio Pumar tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Mazuste Maquilanda came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Ubala fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mazuste Maquilanda couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mazuste Maquilanda in the 39th minute of play forced Lejanias's goalkeeper Cornelio Pumar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Lejanias's zone, Valdo Albear stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cornelio Pumar came out of the goal and Valdo Albear tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 44 minutes into the match, Roberto Lugo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cornelio Pumar. Lejanias's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Roberto Lugo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
If Mazuste Maquilanda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Lejanias's zone, Valdo Albear stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cornelio Pumar came out of the goal and Valdo Albear tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Goren Sarricolea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Victoriano Aspurua tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Goren Sarricolea struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Victoriano Aspurua didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lejanias. After having played for 76 minutes, Valdo Albear managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ubala's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valdo Albear was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 78th match minute, Ubala was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roberto Lugo to maneuver through the defense. Cornelio Pumar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mazuste Maquilanda, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Rios Albertos struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Cornelio Pumar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ubala. Lejanias's Patxi Marina got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Leonel Heso was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Ubala's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
