Valerio Grau showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Balesio Villasante, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. In the 16th minute, Felippe Zubillaga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Patevaca booed when Atletico Barranquilla was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celedonio Bayon didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Felippe Zubillaga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Josue Lance was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. When Godofredo Tarrero fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. When Salomon Estevez was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 89 minutes had been played.
