A collision led to FC BARCELONA getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Urtats Clarabout hit a great ball. Celedonio Castañondo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Felix Irigoras fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celedonio Castañondo having to interfere. If Aitor Artigue had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valente Faes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Urtats Clarabout in the 30th minute of the match. Maximo Alvadalejo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Valente Faes made a huge save. In the 39th minute, Unai Cavite ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Valente Faes was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. With 45 minutes on the clock, Mitxel Calleja commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Aitor Artigue was the one to do the kick off. 56 minutes into the match, CR Flamengo's goal looked a bit too open when Maximo Alvadalejo came free, but Valente Faes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Valente Faes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Denis Gargante, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Denis Gargante might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Valente Faes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Denis Gargante ran back to his position shaking his head. After 74 minutes, Lauro Castrillon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC BARCELONA and the CR Flamengo players grew even worse after the yellow card. Lauro Castrillon hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match.
