ATLETICO NACIONAL's Jobo Molledo got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marko Orejo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Urti Secadura tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leocadio Lasquibar hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 42 minutes, Aznaro Seña put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Urti Secadura. The supporters of ATLETICO NACIONAL booed when Abra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leocadio Lasquibar didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half ATLETICO NACIONAL were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Aznaro Seña was the one to do the kick off. In the 84th minute Xavion Godoy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Urti Secadura saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Xavion Godoy kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Urti Secadura. That made the score 0-4 in the 85 minute of play. The ATLETICO NACIONAL fans' excitement grew in the 97th match minute when ATLETICO NACIONAL's Aznaro Seña looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When the final whistle sounded ATLETICO NACIONAL left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Abra.
