In the 16th match minute, Mónaco fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joam Briseño to maneuver through the defense. 17 minutes into the match, DEPORTIVO CALI's Ted Tejeyra broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 19 minutes into the game, Mónaco fc's Min Miera nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Epifanio Lloret made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Hipolito Berrondo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ondino Villalaud having to interfere. Joey Tocalanza struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Ondino Villalaud didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for DEPORTIVO CALI. Mónaco fc's Ondino Villalaud played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hipolito Berrondo in the 37th minute of play. Hipolito Berrondo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 43rd match minute, Mónaco fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by James Santayana to maneuver through the defense. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Hipolito Berrondo made the kick off in the second half. 50 minutes into the game, James Santayana was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mónaco fc's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave DEPORTIVO CALI the free kick. After 50 played minutes Mónaco fc got a freekick which was hit by James Santayana. DEPORTIVO CALI's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ted Tejeyra in the 54th minute. 58 minutes into the match, DEPORTIVO CALI's Joey Tocalanza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ondino Villalaud narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 59th minute, Marcial Armendariz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. DEPORTIVO CALI:s Epifanio Lloret showed great skill when he stopped Asteri Ribacoba:s penalty. Marcial Armendariz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Epifanio Lloret tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joey Tocalanza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ondino Villalaud showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hipolito Berrondo, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Joey Tocalanza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Ondino Villalaud tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sarracino Acosta kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. The supporters of Mónaco fc booed when DEPORTIVO CALI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tavio Canaria didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 90th minute of the match Asteri Ribacoba shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Epifanio Lloret showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Mónaco fc's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
