Francho Ballesteros's late challenge caught a LOS GALACTICOS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After taking down the ball on LOS GALACTICOS's corner Tadeu Ribeiro fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Pitin Berrueta quite easily take care of the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Valerio Buergo to make the kick off. Jacinto Bojorquez struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Nicolas Rallo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Pitin Berrueta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pitin Berrueta was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Valerio Buergo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 73 minute of play. 79 minutes into the game, Ryan Palomarez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. LOS GALACTICOS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Los diablos de Ibague the free kick.
