Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Agustin Valenciaga started the match with the kick off. The Union atletico Maracaibo fans' excitement grew in the 3rd match minute when Union atletico Maracaibo's Romelio Oñiderra looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 6 minutes into the match, Fernando Pellon notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Union atletico Maracaibo's Mon Mejia. Mon Mejia was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Fernando Pellon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mon Mejia having to interfere. In the 11th match minute, Union atletico Maracaibo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Belo Espejo to maneuver through the defense. Agustin Valenciaga received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Mon Mejia came out and tried to block the shot, but Agustin Valenciaga slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 14th minute. In the 17th match minute, Union atletico Maracaibo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maraman Artadi to maneuver through the defense. 19 minutes into the match, Coconuco's Fernando Pellon sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mon Mejia narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some careless play in the Coconuco defense, Leo Cemborain kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Napier Villarreal. The Coconuco fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Napier Villarreal should have stopped the shot. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Coconuco's goalkeeper Napier Villarreal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Napier Villarreal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romelio Oñiderra in the 32nd minute of the match. After 35 played minutes Coconuco got a freekick which was hit by Manolo Arellano. 39 minutes into the match, Coconuco's goal looked a bit too open when Leo Cemborain came free, but Napier Villarreal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Napier Villarreal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romelio Oñiderra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Leo Cemborain managed to get in a good position for a shot. Union atletico Maracaibo's supporters rose to their feet, but Leo Cemborain was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Napier Villarreal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Coconuco's Napier Villarreal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leo Cemborain in the 46th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Leo Cemborain to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Coconuco's Firmin Terrazas got a free kick in the 52nd minute. 53 minutes into the match, Coconuco's goalkeeper Napier Villarreal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Abilio Vierna. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Agustin Valenciaga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Coconuco's supporters rose to their feet, but Agustin Valenciaga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mon Mejia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Taio Garcia came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Coconuco fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Taio Garcia couldn't finish the play. In the 60th minute Leo Cemborain shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Napier Villarreal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Agustin Valenciaga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mon Mejia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernando Pellon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mon Mejia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernando Pellon, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Agustin Valenciaga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 72 played minutes Union atletico Maracaibo got a freekick which was hit by Belo Espejo. Guter Balladares took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 72nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Mon Mejia. Union atletico Maracaibo's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Agustin Valenciaga came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Coconuco fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Agustin Valenciaga couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Coconuco getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Guter Balladares hit a great ball. A long shot from Abilio Vierna in the 80th minute of play was well struck, but Napier Villarreal made a really good save at the right post. In the 81stth minute of the game Leo Cemborain who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Coconuco's Napier Villarreal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the last second Napier Villarreal throw himself and got hold of the ball when Leo Cemborain in the 90thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. In the 92nd minute, Romelio Oñiderra got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Agustin Valenciaga came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Coconuco fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Agustin Valenciaga couldn't finish the play.
