Gauargi Porcayo charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gauargi Porcayo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of ATLETICO NACIONAL FC booed when Piratas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gauargi Porcayo didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Sandalio Panadero came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Piratas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sandalio Panadero couldn't finish the play. Xorxe Coz might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ugaitz Ibaute. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Xorxe Coz ran back to his position shaking his head. Giraldo Caballeria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Ugaitz Ibaute tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Giraldo Caballeria in the 19th minute of play forced ATLETICO NACIONAL FC's goalkeeper Ugaitz Ibaute to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Giraldo Caballeria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Sandalio Panadero managed to get in a good position for a shot. Piratas's supporters rose to their feet, but Sandalio Panadero was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ugaitz Ibaute breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Piratas booed when ATLETICO NACIONAL FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Menendo Arellanes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 27th minute Giraldo Caballeria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ugaitz Ibaute saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ugaitz Ibaute showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gauargi Porcayo, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Ugaitz Ibaute took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gauargi Porcayo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gauargi Porcayo struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Ugaitz Ibaute didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Piratas. Ugaitz Ibaute showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giraldo Caballeria, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. ATLETICO NACIONAL FC's Ugaitz Ibaute played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sandalio Panadero in the 45th minute of play. If Xorxe Coz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sandalio Panadero stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Giraldo Caballeria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lorenzo Ledesma took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martxelin Heneses, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 62nd minute, Xorxe Coz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Xorxe Coz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ugaitz Ibaute having to interfere. Dani Arceo's late challenge caught a Piratas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dani Arceo helped the player get up and apologised. After 65 played minutes ATLETICO NACIONAL FC got a freekick which was hit by Dani Arceo. 67 minutes into the match, Piratas's Sandalio Panadero broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. When the match clock showed 71 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Sandalio Panadero sped through ATLETICO NACIONAL FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ugaitz Ibaute. Ugaitz Ibaute made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Giraldo Caballeria sent off a good shot on target. Ugaitz Ibaute stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sandalio Panadero's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. In the 80th minute, Xorxe Coz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in ATLETICO NACIONAL FC's zone, Xorxe Coz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ugaitz Ibaute came out of the goal and Xorxe Coz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Giraldo Caballeria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ugaitz Ibaute having to interfere. Ugaitz Ibaute came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Piratas's Xorxe Coz. But to his dismay, Xorxe Coz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Giraldo Caballeria got free with Ugaitz Ibaute in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 93rd minute, Menendo Arellanes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match was over Piratas could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than ATLETICO NACIONAL FC throughout the match.
