Spectators: 7526 (Terracing: 5645, Seating: 1731, VIP seats: 150) Cañoneros club's Ruy Piedeconcha started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Chepe Ramos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Romildo Helguero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Resistance FC's Chepe Ramos got a free kick in the 5th minute. If Chepe Ramos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chepe Ramos was extremely unlucky when he, in the 10th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Ciro Rionda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ruy Piedeconcha, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Ciro Rionda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruy Piedeconcha in the 21st minute of play. 22 minutes into the match, Resistance FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ruy Piedeconcha came free, but Ciro Rionda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 24 minutes into the game, Gaizka Eleizalde cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Ciro Rionda was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 27 minutes, Ruy Piedeconcha mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cañoneros club and the Resistance FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Cañoneros club's Ruy Piedeconcha got a free kick in the 28th minute. Ciro Rionda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henric Sudupe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 38th minute Chepe Ramos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romildo Helguero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cañoneros club's Romildo Helguero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Suero Cabero in the 39th minute of play. Ciro Peral's late challenge caught a Cañoneros club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ciro Peral helped the player get up and apologised. In the 41st minute, Ciro Peral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gaizka Eleizalde recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ciro Rionda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ruy Piedeconcha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

After 52 minutes, Olayo Mauriz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cañoneros club and the Resistance FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Resistance FC booed when Cañoneros club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olayo Mauriz didn't get a good kick on the ball. 54 minutes into the game, Gaizka Eleizalde cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Ciro Rionda was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Chepe Ramos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 64 minutes, Suero Cabero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Resistance FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Suero Cabero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Resistance FC defense, Gaizka Eleizalde kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ciro Rionda. The Resistance FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ciro Rionda should have stopped the shot. Ciro Rionda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruy Piedeconcha in the 74th minute of play. 75 minutes into the game, Henric Sudupe was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cañoneros club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Resistance FC the free kick. In the 77th minute of the match Ciro Peral sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Romildo Helguero skillfully saved the ball. Chepe Ramos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute.
