When Victoriano Elzuardi came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Guerreros Dorados fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Victoriano Elzuardi couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Santio Bucesta during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Humberto Llave took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulino Taboada, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 53rd minute, Victoriano Elzuardi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Jayap FC getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Nestor Canales hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulino Taboada in the 56th minute of play forced Jayap FC's goalkeeper Humberto Llave to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Calisto Caspe came free with the goalkeeper in the 88th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Flavio Gurbista could save by the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Calisto Caspe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jayap FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Calisto Caspe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Flavio Gurbista breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 91 minutes into the game, Daunte Orense was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Guerreros Dorados's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jayap FC the free kick.
